We’ve had a diverse range of weather experiences over the last few weeks, including lots and lots of rain! So, when I saw this idea on http://www.teachpreschool.org/2012/03/weather-word-wall-art/ I thought it would be very suitable to try it in Prep as a way to encourage the children to notice the weather patterns and develop their language and vocabulary.
On Wednesday, Kael told us it was cloudy and as a class we worked out that it felt cool. By the end of the day we had also had a lot of wind and some rain as well.

We explored mixing black and white to make grey as we painted clouds.

We made the words describing the weather visible in the painting area, which some students attempted to write themselves.
