We worked on our names . . . we are all making progress!

Today we prepared for writing by developing our story telling abilities through puppet play.

Today we began learning about how to read to someone. First we revised three different ways to read.
- We could read the words . . . but that’s a bit tricky for us in Prep at the moment.
- We can read the pictures
- We can remember a story that we know
Georgia and Siena did a fantastic job modelling for us what it looks and sounds like when we read to someone, using the third strategy to read The Hungry Caterpillar together.
One of the things we learnt about what it looks like to read to someone is EEKK. Ask your child about what this means.
Then we had a practise.

Graphing the results of our stamina practises gives the children a visual encouragement to try and improve.

As you can see, today for our first practise, all (except one pair . . . I won’t mention any names!), read to someone for FIVE MINUTES! Well done, Prep!
